Oregon Relays!!!

Long drive! but a good meet!!

Pretty much all of our girls met or exceeded their placement in the meet. We had some great perfomances

Friday night
Emily Wallen ran a great 3000m and her converted time came out to be about a 6-7 sec. PR and she placed 8th

Our DMR – Brianne, Kelsey, Kailyn, and Sydney – took 27 seconds off of the time from 2 weeks ago at the Tacoma Invite

The Sprint Medley – Rachel, Emily E, Tosha, Emily W. ran 8 sec faster than we did last year (a NEW record) and placed 4th
Tosha ran an AMAZING 60.2 sec 400 split in that race – the fastest of the season for anyone on the team

Our 4×100 Improved our time by only .09 but Tosha went from 4th when she got the baton to tied for first at the line!! It was amazing to watch!! The crowd was going wild!!

Or 4×400 again improved our time and was VERY competitive!!

Rachel also had a BIG season best in the 300 Hurdles placing 3rd in her heat when she was ranked 8th

Meet day reminders

a few reminders!!
1. the new school district policy requires me to have a note signed by the parent before I can let an athlete leave the meet. Just a simple ” I am taking my daughter,_______, from the meet on (date) – your signature.” – on a piece of scrap paper and we are good to go.

2. I can not let athletes go home with other parents. (school district policy not ours)

3. I would like all the athletes to stay for the entire meet and support the team. (unless arranged with me before the meet) “My parents are here and they want to go” is the one the kids like to use the most. Usually not true but I wanted you to know my expectations

Meets where we have transportation other than a bus will have slightly different rules. Just check with me if you are going on one of those

It is real important that athletes have some food to eat during the meets – and also some warm clothes!!

Mountain Invite

We ended up with a 4th place finish last night after some great performances!!

Sydney had a great 1600 to finish close behind Madison as both of them earned their way onto the top 20 list!! both on the freshman list and overall.

Olivia continued her climb up the discus list

Emmy ran her first open 400 and won her heat!!

Madison and Rachel ran spectacular legs in the 4×400 running 63.6 and 63.0 respectively – the fastest 2 splits of the year!!

Mary Agnes had both a good 100 and probably the best start of the year in the 200!!

All in all we had 13 girls post marks that were the best for the season!! Nice job ladies

NEXT UP – @North Thurston on thursday

Oregon Relays – Eugene OR – April 24/25

We will get a number of entrants into the Oregon Relays. It is a pretty high powered meet so not everyone will get to go.

There is a minor issue. We have hotel rooms reserved but the athletes need to help us pay for those rooms. I you go and use one of the rooms you will be required to share in the cost of the room. (approx $40) Each athlete will also be responsible for their own food for the trip.

We get to make 40 entries and then the meet organizers choose from those 40. Here is what we need to know.

1. If you are a varsity athlete can you go? or not?
2. Can you as a parent drive to the meet?
3. Is money an issue for you on this trip ( if we know early we have ways to help!!)

If you have any questions please contact me

At Auburn Mountainview

We are now 2-0 We got a hard fought win buy about 15 points.
Much closer than I thought but still a good win!!

We had a WET,WET,WET. day but most of the time. Things went really well for us.

Madison led us off with a great 3200 and from there we slowly pulled away.

We had a lot of great performances from girls in new/unusual events.

Lynn High jumped for the first time and got 2nd. Rachel ran a great 400. our normal 4×200 won the 4×400 with a season best time of 4:28.9 (great job to Emily E., Tess, Tosha, Rachel)

Remember we have spring break and each event coach will have separate practices. Check in to make sure you know when you have practice!
