That is 9 count them 9 new entries in our record book just tonight – amazing night

We also had a TON of Season or Personal bests tonight – 36 to be exact – yes 36!!!!!!!  Granted some of those are because it was the first time we tried that event (13)  but it doesn’t matter!!  We had 23!!! that improved over last week already – that is a great stat for this time of year.

Some things that stuck out to me – what little I saw as I was fixing problems at the meet.  I love the way we compete out there Kim F. Taylor G. Stephanie were all seen fighting off a girl at the finish line.  There were some GREAT improvements in the javelin – Ellie had a 19′ improvement over last week.

I love how people are excited about their marks – Annie and Melissa both were sporting great smiles as we talked about how the did today

Kim, Morgan and Hannah F all stepped up and ran Relays for us where they normally wouldn’t and performed GREAT!

Looking forward to next week when we do it all over again – Next week we host the #1 returning team from the Narrows last year in Central Kitsap and we also have our First Invitational on Saturday the 4th.  More information to come on that meet.

2015 starts in spectacular fashion

Today we were at Olympia HS with Olympia and Yelm.

I could not be any more proud of how our girls performed today – We told them yesterday that today was just about giving BEST effort – just to find out where we are today.

As the girls came to tell me how they did – it was great to see the smiles on the girls faces as they came to tell me how they performed today.

We had a ton of PR’s (Personal Records) today as I only keep track of what the girls have done since they have come to Capital – So all the new girls – including the Freshman have new PR’s today.

There is just WAY too much to catch everything but here is what really stuck out to me today.

ALL the girls did a great job of getting ready for their events – considering it was the first meet of the year – we will still get better with timing and knowing what needs to be done to get ready.

I also loved the support for our team mates that I saw out there today. Lots of cheering – lots of High five’s also the Javelin official commented to both Myself on Coach Aaron about how “happy and helpful” our girls were out there today. The head coaches from Olympia both came and thanked me for the girls moving hurdles and keeping the meet moving.

Stand out performances:

Again there are many but these really impressed me.

In the early events – Hannah C went to her first HS and won the long jump :) Hannah F. won the 100 Hurdles in a lifetime PR!! – Currently athletic.net is being flakey for results but I know Elise set a new PR in the shot by about 5 feet. That is huge! in the 1600 we had a 1-2-3 finish with Lauren, Naomi, Payton. Anna L. and Audry set a lifetime PR’s in the 1600 and in the 800 Lauren and Aven went 1-2.

In the Javelin today it was a great showing all around but very impressive was by Gwen who threw over 86′
I know I did not catch them all and I will update as I get a chance to study it farther.

I know so far that Lauren, and Naomi created new entries into our record book and joined by Gwen in the Javelin.

Last thing I want to remind everyone is that for future meets it will be very important to have sweats or leggings to keep bodies warm during meets – even on warm days we don’t want people running around with bare legs – it’s just hard to keep ready to compete.

again, I am sooooooo proud of all the girls today and can’t express it enough what a great group of ladies we have on this team.

Next up – Home meet next week :) More information to come.
