Capital Womens Track and Field – Lettering Requirements

You must finish the season in good standing* and complete one of the following:
1. Qualify and compete at the District Track meet.
2. Complete four seasons on Capital High Schools team.
3. Meet the standard for your event. (See Below chart 2)
4. Earn 35 points from the possibilities below in chart 1. (** See Below ** )
5. The Coach may award a letter to an athlete who does not meet criteria
but the coach feels is deserving.
* Good standing means that you have not quit the team or failed to compete in League, District, or state event that you were entered in/qualified for. Choosing to not participate in the championship events will be considered NOT finishing in good standard.

Chart 1: Letter points are earned as follows:
1. 2 points are earned for recruiting a friend that is new to the Track team.
They must finish the season. (six points maximum)
2. 1 point for every High School PR (personal record) you set.
3. 2 points, per week, for perfect practice attendance. (Illness is excused)
4. 4 points for a GPA of 3.5 or higher or 2 points for a GPA of 3.0 or
higher on your 2nd Trimester report card.
5. 2 points for turning in your goal sheet to Coach Wright before meets start.
6. 2 points for being cleared on the first day.
7. 4 points for being awarded “Athlete of the Meet.” or “Athlete of the Week.”
8. Invites: (Varsity Invites)
2 points for competing,
1 point for every point that you score that counts towards team scores.
9. Regular meets:
1 point for every point that you score for team points in a meet.
